Disposing of worn out cooling and freezing appliances is a major responsibility for both companies and producers. Refrigerating and freezing appliances are classified as hazardous waste and have to be taken care of by a certified recycler. Stena provides an easy solution for you.
This is how it works
Cooling appliances are picked up from our customers by certified transporters. Upon arrival to one of our plants each appliance is identified and registered.
Oil and cooling agent (ex R12, R134a, R600a and ammonia) are removed in closed systems before processed in a fragmenting facility were metals, plastic and PU insulation are separated. The blowing agent, used in the PU, is separated and recovered.
All cooling agent and blowing agent are neutralized in state-of-the-art equipment.
- We recover 99% of every refrigerator or air conditioning appliance
- Ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastic, oil and insulation become new raw materials or energy
- Cooling and blowing agents are taken care of in an environmentally sound manner
We accept: Refrigerators (household and commercial), freezer/refrigerator boxes, freezers, insulated panel, air conditioning systems and water coolers.
